Master's Thesis Workshop 2026

Maria UttenthalHertie School

A three-part recorded workshop on the decisions that shape a master's thesis: choosing a topic, working through the literature, and turning both into answerable research questions.

Recorded for master's students at the Hertie School, this workshop covers the opening stages of a thesis in the order they actually arrive. The first session treats topic choice as a question of scope and feasibility rather than enthusiasm. The second deals with reading strategically once the literature is larger than the time available for it. The third converts a topic and a body of reading into research questions that can be answered with the evidence and methods genuinely at hand.
